The Muckleroy house traveled
22 miles from Frelsburg area. Mr. Mike Muckleroy built the house in 1840 for his bride. The house has three rooms downstairs
and two bedrooms upstairs.
The
walls of the downstairs bedroom are painted with paris green and wash bluing, giving them a brilliant turquoise-blue shade.
The bed in this room is made from pecan wood and has a rope spring with cornhusk mattress. The dogtrot runs through the middle
of the house separating the indoor kitchen from the bedrooms. This kitchen is well equipped with a cooking fireplace, cast
iron pots, and other useful utensils.
The
back kitchen has a room and bed upstairs. This house and the back kitchen are reserved for the event coordinator; however,
all but the front bedroom are available for guests.
